♥ Exotic Astrophytum Asterias (Sea Urchin) Cactus Plant Seeds ♥
Astrophytum asterias was once found throughout Texas and Mexico in an area of occupancy of less than 2,000 km² at the Mexico-USA border to the east of the Sierra Madre Oriental mountain in the states of Tamaulipas and and the lower Rio Grande Valley.
Astrophytum asterias (a.k.a. Sea-Urchin Cactus or Sand Dollar) is an extremely flat barrel cactus with unique and remarkably beautiful form and no typical covering of spines, but with tiny speckled tuft of hairs less than pinhead-sized. It produces large yellow flowers with orange throats often larger than the plant itself. The common name comes from resemblance to sea urchin without spines.

Astrophytum asterias Plant Seeds
Qty: 10
Planting Instruction:
Fill a pot with a moist, gritty, or cacti compost. Gently firm down and level the surface. Scatter your mixed cactus seeds over the surface, taking care not to sow them too thickly.
Gently sprinkle a thin layer of vermiculite or fine grit over the seeds, covering the whole surface of the compost. Leave the pot in a greenhouse or on a warm windowsill, covered with a plastic wrap to preserve soil moisture.
Seedlings will develop within a few weeks. Remove the plastic bag and water when the compost becomes dry, but spray the surface with water regularly, to keep it moist.
Transplant the seedlings to individual pots when the plants start to crowd and are big enough to handle. Place the pots in a sunny windowsill.
Fast shipping via USPS First Class with tracking number. Please email me if you have any questions or request.
